All students in the game design and immersive media degree have to complete a minor outside the Park School.

Electives: In the game design major you have to have an outside minor, which means you take a number of classes in another department not in the Park School. This gives you some depth of knowledge in that field. We want to make games about something, games with stories and strong characters, with unique visual styles, with interesting use of visuals and sound. Use your electives to gain that information. Use your electives to get background info you can bring to your games and make them unique.

There are some interesting minors for game designers - art history, computer science, psychology, music, foreign language, anthropology, and physics. The choice is up to you. Pick something you are interested in, that you want to work into your games. Feel free to talk with faculty about what might be interesting minors or individual electives.
